Nor can many of them afford the steep tuition fees to attend prestigious summer music programs such as Interlochen, Lamont, Tanglewood, and others. Your support will help these students reach their full musical potential! Read more School Garden Nina Otero Community School I am an NEA Equity/Social Justice Fellow this year and my project is to start a school garden. I am working with the various offices within SFPS, but there is no funding for such a project. The first thing needed is a permit fence, to keep it contained and safe. The next big item needed is a small green house.... I am hoping to create a venue that supports cross-grade collaboration, and eventually brings in parents and other community members. it will be a multi-year project, for sure! Thank you. Read more Explora! Pinon Elementary School We would like our students to participate in a hands on science exploration. Expora! offers this opportunity. The students will have a classroom exploration which will allow them the opportunity to build a car with electricity which covers our science standards. The standards that are being covered are electricity and magnetism. The students will then be able to participate in real life applications of the concepts they have learned in the classroom. Thank you for considering our proposal for Explora. This is a great opportunity for many children who are unable to commute to Albuquerque with their families. So often in the school year we have to abandon our garden program because of the cold weather. These supplies will revitalize the green house and provide indoor opportunities for students to explore during those frigid months. The funding will go toward purchasing new hoop house plastic, grow lights, planter boxes, seed, and soil. Thank-you for your consideration. Read more She Who Shaped New Mexico The International Women's Forum of New Mexico is asking for support in the amount of $2,000 to help New Mexico Historic Women Marker initiative with educational outreach for grades Kindergarten through twelfth grade in Santa Fe Public Schools.
